A traditional Japanese pattern called "Matsukawabishi."
It comes from the appearance of a pine tree with its bark stripped off,
It is likened to the vitality of a pine tree that grows straight up,
It has long been used as an auspicious pattern signifying growth, prosperity, and continuity.


Samurai costumes and decorations of shrines and temples,
Although it is a pattern that is often seen in formal occasions,

This piece is finished using the traditional Japanese dyeing method, chusen.
This tenugui is also
Not inkjet or pigment print,
It is dyed using the traditional Japanese dyeing technique called chusen.
Fold 30 to 40 pieces of dough,
Place the mold and pour the dye on top.
The entire process is done by hand,
High skill is required to reproduce the fine patterns.
The dye penetrates to the core of the thread,
Beautiful dyeing with no front or back,
It is soft and the texture becomes more comfortable the more you use it.
The unique fluctuations that come with being handmade are also part of this fabric.

It's much more flexible to use than you might think.
Wipe your hands and reduce sweat.
In the kitchen, at work, or on the go.
Wear it around your neck or tie it to your bag.
Because the pattern is not too assertive,
You'll find yourself reaching for it naturally every day.

Using the archive material "Edo Jiman" that my grandfather owned as a reference,

Material: Bun (Prime Minister) fabric. Made with thick 20-count thread, this fabric is slightly coarse. It is thick and has excellent absorbency and breathability. It is no exaggeration to say that almost all tenugui on the market are made of this material. The order of fabric thickness is Oka → Tokuoka → Bun → Tokubun. Size: 34 x 90 cm.

<Handling Precautions>
・The edges are left unfinished, so there may be some fraying at first, but this will settle down naturally. ・As this item is hand-dyed, there is a possibility of color fading or color transfer. ・Please wash by hand separately. ・Use a neutral detergent and avoid bleach. ・Avoid soaking for long periods of time; reshape and dry in the shade.
